Thyrocare Test
Thyrocare is India's first diagnostic laboratory that is entirely automated and emphasizes on delivering quality at reasonable costs to laboratories and hospitals in the nation and worldwide.

With the quality in the heart of management, Thyrocare test is one of the first diagnostic laboratories to obtain recognitions like ISO 9001-2000 (in 2001). This is now escalated to ISO 9001-2008 in 2005 and College of American Pathologist (abbreviated as CAP) certification in 2008. It provides quality services created with meticulous attention and completely monitored systems, professional and trained manpower. Thyrocare Aarogyam – a broad healthcare package to evaluate your current health status and monitor you for any health related risks and assists you take essential steps in deterrence or early discovery of a major disease. It provides an online offer for a limited period for Rs. 1800. It includes 84 tests that provide a wide coverage of healthcare assessments.

Tests in Thyrocare Package helps to keep track on various health parameters: like for cardiovascular health are Apo B / Apo A1 RATIO (Apo B/A1) that predicts cardiovascular outcomes, Apolipoprotein - A1 (Apo-A1) that determine the amounts of apo A-I (it is a protein; low Apo-A1 indicates low HDL), Apolipoprotein - B (Apo-B)that determines the risk of cardiovascular disease (Apo-B is major constituent of LDL), High Sensitivity C - Reactive Protein (HsCRP) to measure the levels of C-reactive protein to identify the levels of inflammation, LIPOPROTEIN (A) [LP(A)] to detect a increase in the level of lipoprotein (a) as a potential risk factor in the growth of cardiovascular disease and Homocysteine to recognize vitamin B12 deficiency, homocystinuria and a reason for unexplained blood clots.

Anti-CCP (ACCP) is a blood test that is conducted to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis (as it is an antibody present in Rheumatoid Arthritis individuals). To check for Thyroid, there is Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) test that detects problems that affect the thyroid gland, Total Triiodothyronine (T3) test that measures the levels of hormone T3 and Total Thyroxine (T4)test which measures the T4 hormone amounts in the blood.

There are also some tests to check vitamin contents in the body like Folic Acid, Vitamin B-12 and 25-OH Vitamin D (Total). To check Iron deficiency or excess in the body, there are tests like % Transferrin Saturation, Ferritin, Iron and Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC).

There are 8 lipid tests like TC/ HDL Cholesterol Ratio, Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, VLDL Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol – Direct, LDL – Direct, LDL / HDL Ratio and Non-HDL Cholesterol that is a complete lipid test to measure the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in your blood. There are amylase and lipase tests to determine the amount of these enzymes in your body which can pose a threat. In case they are high, it might indicate problems with the pancreas and gallbladder.

For the Liver, there are 11 tests in Thyrocare Aarogyam like Gamma Glutamyltransferase (GGT),  Alkaline Phosphate, Serum Albumin/Globulin Ratio, Bilirubin – Direct, Bilirubin (Indirect) and Bilirubin – Total that check the liver for two main enzymes namely Aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and Alanine aminotransferase (ALT). If there is an elevated level of these enzymes, it is more likely that there is some damage caused to the liver.

For the kidneys, there are 5 tests – Uric Acid, Creatinine – Serum, Bun/Sr.Creatinine Ratio, Blood Urea Nitrogen (Bun), Calcium to evaluate the function of the kidney and help in the analysis of kidney disease. Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) gives an estimated measurement of the rate of glomerular filtration at which the blood is filtered in the kidneys. Electrolyte testing is carried out to check the imbalance of electrolytes i.e. Sodium and Chloride and is helpful to evaluate cases where high blood pressure, kidney disease or heart failure are suspected. There are also some tests that measure toxic metals in urine including toxins such as mercury, selenium, lead, cesium, arsenic, cobalt, chromium, cadmium and barium. This is a perfect test for those suspected of exposure to a toxic element. For Diabetes, there are two tests in Thyrocare Profile – HbA1c that gives you a picture of your average blood sugar levels, and Average Blood Glucose that suggests the average blood glucose level in the past 2 to 3 months. The hemogram or a complete blood count (CBC) is a screening test to verify for such disorders as anemia, infection and many other diseases.
