Web designers are responsible for creating attractive, functional websites that work well on all types of devices. They're often involved in other aspects of website development, too, such as coding, graphic design, and user experience (UX).
Web developers build websites from scratch or modify existing ones. They may use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, ColdFusion, Java, C#, Python, Perl, XML, XHTML, or other technologies.
Web developers typically focus on building websites using one or more programming languages. They may write code directly into the source files of a website or use an integrated development environment (IDE) to do so.
